Confessions of a Shopaholic

My daughter Tasha brought home a DVD she borrowed from a friend yesterday. "Mama, you have to watch this!" she said laughing. I quickly took the DVD from her hand and saw "Confessions of a Shopaholic". Hahaha, the title alone was so catchy. Naughty girl!

So last nite we sat together watching the movie which was done based on the books "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan" by Sophie Kinsella. It's about this girl, Rebecca who writes for a financial magazine (yulkkk...must be boring!). She's a shopping addict and her job doesn't pay enough. To cut short, her bills started piling up (I know how it feels, Rebecca!), and to make it worse, she lost her job. So she tried cutting back and attempted paying back her ever-growing debts. The ending was quite dramatic, where she did a clearance sale with the help of her family and sold ALL her designer clothes, shoes, handbags... EVERYTHING that she loved! Oooohhh...all the YSL, Gucci, etc.

The response was so overwhelming, and she managed to collect the $16K odd she needed to pay all her debts!! Yabbadabadooo!! But she had nothing left...huk huk. After that of course, she found her love la..who came to her, and brought a green scarf that she lelong during the sales for $300. Rupanya mamat tu yg bid for the green scarf! (Rebecca was called a "Green Scarf Girl", she had this scarf on her most of the time and loved it so, very much!) So the scene where the hero came with her green scarf when she didn't have anything at all left was...so romantic!

Hahaha, so what's the moral of the story? I gotta do a clearance sales too? Oooohh, but there's no YSL in the wardrobe, how to get $16K? Can sell the sofa or not? kih kih kih...
