My daughter Tasha brought home a DVD she borrowed from a friend yesterday. "Mama, you have to watch this!" she said laughing. I quickly took the DVD from her hand and saw "Confessions of a Shopaholic". Hahaha, the title alone was so catchy. Naughty girl!
So last nite we sat together watching the movie which was done based on the books "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan" by Sophie Kinsella. It's about this girl, Rebecca who writes for a financial magazine (yulkkk...must be boring!). She's a shopping addict and her job doesn't pay enough. To cut short, her bills started piling up (I know how it feels, Rebecca!), and to make it worse, she lost her job. So she tried cutting back and attempted paying back her ever-growing debts. The ending was quite dramatic, where she did a clearance sale with the help of her family and sold ALL her designer clothes, shoes, handbags... EVERYTHING that she loved! Oooohhh...all the YSL, Gucci, etc.
The response was so overwhelming, and she managed to collect the $16K odd she needed to pay all her debts!! Yabbadabadooo!! But she had nothing left...huk huk. After that of course, she found her love la..who came to her, and brought a green scarf that she lelong during the sales for $300. Rupanya mamat tu yg bid for the green scarf! (Rebecca was called a "Green Scarf Girl", she had this scarf on her most of the time and loved it so, very much!) So the scene where the hero came with her green scarf when she didn't have anything at all left was...so romantic!
Hahaha, so what's the moral of the story? I gotta do a clearance sales too? Oooohh, but there's no YSL in the wardrobe, how to get $16K? Can sell the sofa or not? kih kih kih...

Help me with this one!
One of my best buys last year was this pair of shoes from a shoe store in Dunedin, New Zealand. It was beginning of autumn when I went there to visit my sister and this store had a big, big sale! I got this golden coloured pair of beauty for only
NZ15.00.
The sad thing is that I haven't got the chance to wear them yet. I've attempted a few times to wear them to the functions I attended (yang tersangat la jarang nya berlaku), but I find the heels a bit to high for comfort. Maybe it's age factor, hahaha. Coz it has never been the problem before (I LOVE highheels!). The colour is lovely though. It's matte gold, so tak la bling bling and over sangat.
Hmmm...sayang sungguh. Hope I would get to wear them soon. My girls have given me the "sharing is caring" kind of statements already... ;-)

Looking forward to a new toy
Whenever I see someone carrying a DSLR, my eyes go BIG! They certainly go bigger when that person begins to take their shots..click-click, click-click, oh my...the sound of it has got style! And when you hold it, you've got to do it with style too!
I wish to get one for myself, soon. My beloved late Papa loved photography so much that he had a container-full of the gadgets. After Papa left us, my big bro took Papa's camera. But he handed to me the rest of the gadgets which I keep in a great care. I don't know what they are, but I know for sure that they cost A LOT!
So all I need to get is a relatively good camera, with which I can use all the gadgets that I have. I know nuts about photography, and let alone DSLR. That's the thrill, I believe! Oooh la la...it's gonna be fun!

Best Friends Are Forever
"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."

"Friendship is one mind in two bodies."

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart."
- Anon
“When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.”
"If I had one gift that I could give you, my friend, it would be the ability to see yourself as others see you, because only then would you know how extremely special you are."
~B.A. Billingsly~
“The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.” ~Unknown~

Best friends are forever. She can be far..far away, but yet so close to your heart. She can already be near you, and knocking on your door every now and then. She may sometimes hurt you a little with some truth. She dares to say NO when something is bad for you. She is that angel who listens to your heart.
To my best friends, thanks from the bottom of my heart.

My brain is at work again!!
Alhamdulillah. Today is much better than yesterday. I'm feeling a lot better and healthier. At least today when I got up, my brain was fast enough to recognise and receive the "signal" that my stomach is empty. It quickly tells that I'm HUNGRY. Hehehe... That's good sign, isn't it?
And when I sat down for a while, my brain started to work again...oooh, what am gonna do today? Let's plan. Let's plan. I can't be sitting home doing nothing. 1 week fever is enough, ok. It's a beautiful Saturday and now I wanna go out and see the outside world. Only have 2 days to relax a little...When Monday comes, the torture begins! Torture? Isn't getting back to work a torture? hisssshhh ;-)
Anyway thanks to Kak Mazidah, my neighbour who came to visit me yesterday with a big bowl of crab soup (waaaalah! Sup ketam you...!) Sedap ya amat. And not forgotten, a bottle of 100 Plus drink too! hehehe! I thought that was cool, kan. Although I don't take any carbonated drink, including 100 Plus for that matter...of course I still accepted her gifts with much appreciation. The sup ketam is awesome (lupa nak ambik gambar..) and dah nak habis pun. Tinggal 1 ekor aje lagi... Orang berbudi kita berbahasa...now I'm thinking what to give her in return. I should at least fill up the big bowl with something when I return it to her. Maybe I'll buy same grapes??
Yup, grapes would be it.

Down with dengue fever, just another test from Allah
I have had high fever for five days already, since Sunday. On Tuesday midnite, the doctor insisted on a blood test, and I was confirmed dengue positive! OMG, dengue? How and where could I have possibly got it?? ;-C
I have not been sick for quite sometime, alhamdulillah. And when I got it this time, the pain was so unbearable. My head was pounding and all my joints were aching so badly at first. I did exactly what the doctor told me to do; take some vitamins and plenty of water. As plenty as 4 LITERS a day! Ooohh, that's so much, but better than being held in the hospital! I had the previlege to opt to go home because my platlet count although below than normal, is still not too low. The doc said, they will just put me on drip (water) and check my platlet count from time to time if I'm admitted. So I said thanks and good bye to the doctor ;)
The 2nd blood test still showed the same result but doc said, it's under control and I could go home. Alhamdulillah... I need to be home as my Adam boy is also having fever. Poor little boy...
I take this as Allah's test on me. This is only a small test.In Surah Al-Anbiyaa:35, Ibn Abbas said about this verse: "We will test you with hardship and with ease, with good health and with sickness, with wealth and with poverty, with the halaal and with the haraam, with obedience and with disobedience and with right guidance and with misguidance - in order that we may establish how you have shown gratitude (for the "good" tests) and how you have remained steadfast (in the face of the "bad" tests)." And unto us you will return - so that Allah will reward each and every soul according to their actions.
Ya Allah, please pardon me. And please have mercy on me. Thank you Ya Allah, for during this period of sickness I came to realise how much love I have around me. And how much love I have given to my loved ones. I hope to be given the chance to give better before the time comes for me to return to you. Amin.
For now, I just need a good sleep..
